Después de seis años de ausencia la agrupación Primus regresará a México en una única fecha, el 19 de enero, para presentar The desaturating seven, su disco más reciente, en el Auditorio Blackberry, en la capital del país.
La banda estadounidense se basó en la obra infantil The rainbow goblins, escrita por el italiano UI de Rico, para hacer ese material de una manera conceptual, pues el vocalista Les Claypool leía ese libro a sus hijos cuando eran pequeños, por lo que él llevo la obra con los integrantes de Primus.
El grupo conformado por Claypool, Larry LaLonde, Tim Alexander, Jay Lane y Bryan Mantia se mantiene fiel a los orígenes de la historia del libro, pues por las definiciones que maneja sobre siete duendes que están obsesionados con comer arcoiris era necesario el ingenio instrumental.
El disco tiene una duración aproximada de 35 minutos y contiene los temas The valley, The seven, The trek, The scheme, The dream, The storm y The ends?.
En el sencillo The valley se inicia el recorrido con un maestro de duendes y una guitarra acústica que logra crear un ambiente misterioso, mientras que “The seven” cuenta con sonidos de un rock progresivo más clásico.
